Albenga, the city of a hundred Towers, is an Italian town with about 24.000 inhabitants: it faces onto the sea of our beutiful region Liguria. Albenga plain has a proper microclimate for the cultivation of Mediterranean plants, which guarantees a healthy growth of plants and their natural strengthening, also in terms of self-defences and vital strength. Open-air cultivation extends furthermore their life cycle.

Thanks to its climate and geographical features, Albenga plain has been cultivated from generation to generation: kiwis, artichokes, grapevines, tomatos, citrus fruits are just some of the typical products of this area.
Today the four symbols of the city are:
1. Il Pomodoro Cuore di Bue (The heirloom Tomato)
2. L'asparago Violetto (The violet Asparagus)
3. Il Carciofo spinoso (The thorny Artichoke)
4. La Zucchina Trombetta (a long Zucchini)
Albenga has been recently also honored of the title of "City of Wine."
